After you finish a southern cooked meal, there is nothing more satisfying than a slice of rich buttery caramel cake, custardy sweet potato pie or amber sweet pecan pie with crunchy toasted pecans.  You can now create these southern dessert classics with these easy to use mixes and icings. A homemade caramel cake by using a yellow cake mix and heating the icing in the microwave, now that is my style.  The ladies at the luncheon thought I had slaved for hours.
